RE-COMB_ABOUT_2023_1920x1080_04.jpg

Re=Comb was founded by Sarah Jo Palmer and Christopher Deagle, hair stylists who have worked with some of the biggest names in the fashion industry. Their extensive experience lead them to rethink environmental impact of the fashion industry, and have become passionate about finding solutions to reduce waste and promote sustainability.

Re=Comb is the embodiment of their mission to change the future of hair tools and start an eco-movement to help change the hair industry’s future.

Plastic waste is a big problem, with enough plastic thrown away every year to circle the world 5 times. Shockingly, only 9% is recycled, causing huge environmental damage.

RE=COMB gives waste a new life, reducing landfill and ocean waste. “At Re=Comb, we believe that we all have a responsibility to take care of our planet. By reducing our plastic consumption, stopping single-use plastic, and reusing and recycling what we can, we can all make a difference.” RECYCLE with RE=COMB We recycle PP 5 HDPE 2 & LDPE 4 Connect with us at Info@re-comb.com

Primary source:
      01. Plastic waste is polluting the environment and harming wildlife. It can take hundreds of years to break down and often ends up in oceans, where it can be mistaken for food by marine animals.      02. Every year, approximately 8 million tons of plastic waste ends up in our oceans, and that amount is expected to triple by 2040.          03.  Single-use plastics, like plastic bags and straws, are a significant source of plastic pollution. In fact, it’s estimated that we use 500 billion plastic bags each year.      04.  Plastic waste not only harms wildlife, but it also damages ecosystems and disrupts natural processes. This can have significant impacts on the planet’s overall health.      05. Plastic waste can also harm human health. Plastic debris in the ocean can contain harmful chemicals, which can be ingested by fish and eventually end up in our food supply.      06. The production of plastic itself is also contributing to environmental problems, as it requires significant amounts of fossil fuels and releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.      07. Plastic recycling rates are low, with only around 9% of all plastic waste being recycled globally.    08.   The plastic waste problem is not limited to developed countries. In fact, much of the plastic waste generated in developed countries is shipped to developing countries for disposal, causing significant environmental and health problems.      09. Micro-plastics, which are small plastic particles that are often invisible to the naked eye, are also a significant problem. They can be found in our oceans, soil, and air, and can have harmful effects on both wildlife and human health.      10. To address the plastic waste problem, individuals can reduce their use of single-use plastics, recycle properly, and support businesses that use sustainable packaging.

*Governments can also implement policies to reduce plastic waste and encourage recycling.

About plastic

Recycled PP(5), HDPE (2), and LDPE (4) plastics are commonly used in a variety of products. PP, or polypropylene, is a durable and versatile plastic that is often used for packaging, labeling, and textiles. HDPE, or high-density polyethylene, is a strong and lightweight plastic that is commonly used for bottles, containers, and construction such as water pipes. LDPE, or low-density polyethylene, is a flexible and lightweight plastic that is used in packaging, bags, and films.

Re=combs are made of 100% recycled plastic, and the use of recycled PP, HDPE, and LDPE plastic ensures that they are durable, strong, and long-lasting. By using only one type of plastic per comb, they can be easily recycled again, which helps to reduce waste and protect the environment.

RE=DEFINING WASTE
THROUGH SUSTAINABLE
DESIGN COLLABORATIONS

Re=waste goes beyond just addressing the waste issue in the hair industry. With our extensive knowledge and expertise in creating innovative products from plastic waste, we collaborate with partners to create new objects and solutions from recycled materials.

Our approach is holistic, and we take a full 360-degree view of the creation process. We don’t just create new molded objects from recycled plastics, but we also work with our collaborators to source raw materials and reuse plastics effectively. This allows us to reduce plastic waste and create a more sustainable future.

We specialize in using recycled PP (5), HDPE (2), and LDPE (4) to create new products. Our unique approach allows us to give waste a new life, reduce landfill and ocean waste, and promote the principles of the circular economy.

Through our collaborations with like-minded partners, we are able to tackle the plastic waste problem head-on and create meaningful change for a more sustainable future. Re=waste is committed to promoting the REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE approach and to using our creativity and expertise to make a positive impact.
